MEET MERIAH
Meriah is in college and knows she will need to pay for her room and board in the next school year. She isn't working currently but had one or two jobs when she was in high school. She plans to get a summer job to help her pay for her room and board but needs a resume to get started.
But Meriah is not sure what employers look for in a resume.
She reaches out to the Definition Writing Clinic through the Resume Makeover service for help in marketing her past job experiences and skills to craft a new resume. After applying to a few roles, she scores an interview with a tutoring agency and accepts an offer. Now she works as a math tutor to earn money that will go towards her school expenses for the next year.

MEET ANTHONY
Anthony feels stuck as a manager at a local movie theater and he never attended college due to financial hardship. Seeking guidance, he contacts the Definition Writing Clinic for a Free Consultation. After reviewing his resume and cover letter, the clinic finds his resume poorly formatted and that he hadn’t written cover letters for past applications. Additionally, the jobs he pursued were too advanced for his skills.
Anthony opts for Career Development Coaching with the clinic. After taking the included career and interest assessment which identifies his passions and strengths, he discovers he could excel as an Event Coordinator.
The clinic directs Anthony to an affordable Event Coordinator certification program that will close some skill gaps. As he works toward completing it, the clinic helps him revise his resume and craft a cover letter tailored to the industry.
At work, Anthony shares his career goals with his supervisor, who encourages him to apply for an internal Event Coordinator position. After reviewing his progress and qualifications, his supervisor offers him an interview. Feeling nervous, Anthony takes advantage of the Interview Prep included in the clinic's career development coaching package and he aces the interview. He accepts the offer and is thrilled about his new role.
